TK/Kindergarten Dismissal Bus Zone:
We wanted to share an important update with our pick up routine. We have a bus that picks up some of our students in TK and Kindergarten. That bus will begin picking up in front of the Kindergarten yard, effective Monday 10/30/23. On Monday, you will notice that there will be cones in the bus zone, please do not park there. Do not block that area and do not double park next to it.
We appreciate your support and understanding. Please share this message with all your family members who are responsible for pick up.
Glenoaks Elementary School Foundation is a non profit organization whose primary mission is to support teaching and learning at Glenoaks Elementary School.
You can help contribute to the year-round fundraising efforts by check or credit card online.
Updated Covid-19 Guidance
The state of California has updated the guidance for Covid-19 on January 9, 2024. LACDPH has aligned with our state's department of public health. After carefully reviewing the new LACDPH guidelines regarding Covid-19, we ask our families and staff to stay home and test if they are exhibiting a fever, and/or Covid-19 symptoms.
The symptoms may include: Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache •Loss of taste or smell • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Nausea or vomiting • Diarrhea
The current Covid-19 guidance includes the following: A 5-day isolation period is no longer required. A person who tests positive for Covid-19 is required to isolate if they present symptoms and/or have a fever they may leave isolation and return to work/school as long as they are fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication and symptoms are mild (much improved). They will need to wear a well fitted mask through day 10. Day 0 would be the first day of symptoms.
A person who tests positive and is symptom free will not need to isolate. They may return to work/school. They will need to wear a well fitted mask through day 10. Day 0 would be the test date.
The district has restricted us from accepting any food related items to celebrate birthdays at the school. Please refrain from sending any such item, as we will have you take it back. You are welcome to send treat bags that will be passed out at the end of day. Please make sure to communicate your plans with the classroom teacher. This is a district policy and will be enforced.
